Bestie Cocktails

Need a cute new party idea to get some friends together??? Look no further.

We’ve all seen the viral trend of making cocktails based on our ex’s- although we would have great content for that, we didn’t want to center a hang out around them- instead we wanted to turn the trend around and make cocktails based off of each other. We picked out of a hat and everyone was assigned person to base a cocktail off of. In my opinion, this was way more fun.

Mikaela, Nisa, Raechelle and I have been friends since high school. Through our cringey phases, bad boyfriends, crazy highs and devastating lows, everything. Now that we’re older, we don’t see each other as much as we’d like. Between our busy schedules and living far away- when we do get together we make the most of it. And truly the one thing we always want to do is sit on someones couch and talk until we’re falling asleep. Usually this involves a wide array of Trader Joes Appetizers and wine. We have since named these evenings, “TJ App night.” We catch up on all the tea, no detail spared, we make each other laugh, we get deep about our lives and relationships and its truly one of my favorite things in this world. It’s crazy to think about how we have grown up together and been there for so many pivotal moments. I can’t imagine my life without them, their words of wisdom, their genuine and unwavering support, their honesty, their harmonious and scarily identical laughs… they are my family and moments like this remind me how lucky I am.

So without further ado, please enjoy our bestie cocktails!!!!

PASSION!

Starting off strong, we have a gorgeous, fresh, fruity cocktail made by Raechelle and inspired by Mikaela! We all know Mika loves her fruity drinks, juicy and sweet. This was really delicious, perfect for a hot summer day.

INGREDIENTS:

2oz Passion Fruit Liqueur

3oz Prosecco

1oz Mango Nectar

Topped off with seltzer

WHEN YOU’RE IN A PICKLE, NISA’S GOT YOUR BACK-SHOT

Created by Mikaela, inspired by Nisa! if you know Nisa at all, you know that pickles are her favorite thing on earth. So of course, there’s nothing better than washing down a shot of vodka with a shot a pickle juice!

INGREDIENTS:

Titos vodka

Pickle juice

BLOODY CAMI

Made by Nisa and inspired by Camila! This was maybe the best Bloody Mary i’ve ever had. She did not forget a single ingredient, this bloody was loaded and just spicy enough. I fear some of us did go back for seconds.

INGREDIENTS:

Celery

Bacon

Salami

Provolone

Olives

Cornichons

Tajin rim

2oz premade Bloody Mary mix

Dash of Tobasco

1 Teaspoon of Horseradish

Juice from 1/2 a lime

2oz titos vodka

DOUBLE CHOCOLATE BROADWAY BABY ESPRESSO MARTINI

Made by Camila and inspired by the Broadway queen herself, Raechelle! At Rae’s apartment, there were always Trader Joe’s dark chocolate peanut butter cups sitting on the coffee table. We know how much Rae loves her chocolate and caffeine, so why not the best of both worlds??

INGREDIENTS:

Dark chocolate sauce (inside cup and on rim)

Crushed dark chocolate peanut butter cups (rim)

2oz Kahlua

1.5oz Titos

1oz Bailey’s Irish Cream

Dash of Half and Half

Looking back, maybe we should have discussed what kind of drink each of us were making- I feel like going from a Bloody Mary to a chocolate espresso martini is kind of criminal… BUT! also represents us really well. We all have our uniqueness and things that make us special, we are different in so many ways but compliment each other as friends which is why we get along so well. We accept everyone for who they are, celebrate them wholeheartedly and love big. It’s so freeing to have friendships like that.

I can candidly say that they have taught me how I deserve to be loved and treated. Platonic relationships are just as impactful and fulfilling as romantic ones, if not more so. We choose each other every day, that connection alone is so meaningful to me. Its a wonderful feeling when you find soulmates in your best friends.
